Baby Friendly Hospital
29.06.2020

Our hospital is a baby-friendly hospital since 1998, and our newborn intensive care unit (NICU) is a baby-friendly care unit since 2014. As a baby-friendly hospital, all employees and patients of our hospital receive training about breast milk and implemented the training in their clinical practice. The breast milk and breastfeeding support commission continues to work actively and increases the rate of breastfeeding in our hospital day by day. Breastfeeding and breast milk training initiatives give effort to promote breastfeeding, and to implement practices for our mothers during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. Breastfeeding and breast milk follow-up of the mothers are performed meticulously after the training. The follow-up of mothers who cannot breastfeed until nursing is kept under close and nursing support is given by healthcare providers to mother's until the breastfeeding is active. Unless there is a problem by the mother or her baby that requires avoiding breast milk, no other foods except breast milk are given to the baby.
